News & Events
We would like to personally invite you to attend Grief in Advance—Understanding Anticipatory Mourning, a seminar intended to benefit caregivers, hospice volunteers and persons assisting terminally ill persons. Please join us at Asbury First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 24th from 6:00PM – 9:00PM. The church is located at 1050 East Ave, Rochester NY 14607. We have invited Dr. Bill Hoy, a grief counselor and university educator to lead this workshop. In addition to having worked through his own losses, Dr. Hoy has been walking with the bereaved for more than 25 years.
We would like to personally invite you to attend Enhancing Listening Skills—Rekindling a Lost Art in the Information Age. Please join us at the Unity Hospital Education Center on Wednesday, March 25th from 10 am until 12 noon. The hospital is located at 1555 Long Pond Rd, Rochester NY 14626. One of the most important arenas for caregiving professionals, clergy and volunteers is their ability to listen. Listening is especially hard in a culture that has learned to keep words to a minimum through Twitter and texting. In this fast-paced workshop, Bill Hoy brings his more than 30 years of counseling and teaching experience to offer proven, practical ideas for asking good questions and engaging patients and families who are often distracted by their smart phones—even during the counseling appointment and the “serious dialogue.” In this practical and informative seminar, you can expect to find answers to these challenges and answer many more pertinent questions on this topic. Call Lifetime Care at 214-1574 to reserve your spot for this beneficial seminar.
